Effie Gavriel Kalopedis is keen on issues of identity, politics, theatre, teaching, foreign affairs, religions, arts, cinema, and travelling.
She has a Degree in English Language and Literature with specialization in Applied Linguistics and an M.Sc. in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Social Sciences.
She has been actively engaged in European Politics as a Secretary General of a European Political Youth Organization and has been actively involved in policy making on youth topics within European Union’s structures.
She has strong working experience in proofreading and translating documents in the fields of funding proposals, politics, history, education, literary theory, medicine, pharmaceutics and film subtitling.
She currently teaches Professional and Academic English, translates, edits, reads and travels passionately.
Maria Gavriel Eliades has a special interest in the fields of Children’s literature, multilingualism and language acquisition at early ages, children’s psychology, e-learning, lifelong learning and volunteerism.
She has a Degree in English Language and Literature, with specialization in Theoretical Linguistics. She also has an M.Sc. in Speech and Language Processing from the University of Edinburgh. She has lived in Brussels for two years, working in the European Commission (General Directorate of Trade).
She has strong working experience in proofreading and translating documents in the fields of politics, law implementation, trade defense, education, language, ICT, engineering and agriculture.
She currently prepares syllabi and supporting material for pre-school learners of English, teaches English, translates, proofreads and dances. Her food preference is, of course, Fish.
